NANTAP Edo State Elects New Executive Council to Drive Growth and Development

Benin City, Edo State – Osemwota Imuentinyan Ogiemwen has emerged as Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), leading a newly elected executive council that will steer the affairs of the association following the successful conduct of the chapter's 2026 elections.

The election, held on Wednesday, May 30, 2026, ushered in a new leadership team committed to advancing the objectives of the association, promoting professional excellence, and strengthening theatre arts practice across Edo State.

Alongside Ogiemwen, members elected Oshiomah Samuel Nyamali as General Secretary, Goodnews Edemevughe as Director of Finance, Precious Obeahon as Director of Publicity, and Jatto Godswill Osose as Director of Production and Screening.

Following the official declaration of results by the State Electoral Committee, the newly elected officers were sworn into office and formally assumed responsibility for the affairs of the chapter.

Speaking on behalf of the new Executive Council, Chairman Ogiemwen expressed appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in the team and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to inclusive leadership, professional development, and member-focused initiatives.

He noted that the new leadership would prioritise strengthening the chapter's activities, expanding opportunities for members, promoting capacity development, and deepening collaboration with the national body and other state chapters.

ouncil also pledged to work collectively towards advancing the vision and objectives of NANTAP while fostering growth, innovation, and institutional development within the theatre arts community.

Members of the chapter have described the successful election and inauguration as a significant milestone, expressing optimism that the new leadership under Ogiemwen's chairmanship will build on existing achievements and position the chapter for greater impact within Edo State's creative and cultural landscape.

With the new executive council now in place, stakeholders look forward to a tenure marked by unity, collaboration, improved member welfare, and sustained growth for theatre arts practitioners across the state.
